  • It's down to the wire as the countdown to elect the next President of the US begins. Who's your favourite -- Democrat Obama or Republican McCain? Blog now. Read the transcript of the live chat on Indiatimes.comThere's no two ways about who is the better candidate. It is Obama. He has come across someone who is more inclusive and speaks for the middle class.America needs a person with fresh ideas and OBAMA IS THE ANSWER.Mccain is more of George Bush.He voted for 4 out of 5 Bush budgets and has voted with Bush 90% of the time.Ironically, Now he claims he is different from Bush.
  • Mccain's pick of Palin as his running mate shows his sense of judgement and I can't for a moment fathom Palin sitting in the President's chair in the event of an emergency to Mccain.
  • I think American people need to vote for Obama to really get the change they need.A vote for Mccain is a vote for a Bush Third term.-Sunny Verma

  • I think in my view McCain will become US Prez with his VP candidate Palin.
  • She got the bright chances of winning, and she will take McCain to the White House.
  • According to my calculations of Numerology, Palin will rule oneday as President after McCain. She got really bright future and her stars are shining and her luck is superb, with these features, she will lead McCain to White House as US President.
  • Whether she has qualification or not, only we can see once she becomes the Vice President, then we know.
  • Let us see what happens.
  • whoever it is........ we hope they will be friendly with India and help Indians in USA.
  • because of the current Financial crisis, lots of Indians are suiciding with families, or disturbed and distressed and the got dippression.
  • Hope the present and future Govt, will help all Indians to come out of this financial crisis.

  • I am an Indian Citizen and immigrant to USA for last 5 years, while I have my own frustration about Indian Politics and our election campaigns where Voters consider Elections as only source of entertainment and don’t understand or don’t expect our leaders to do anything for us, Voters in India fall asleep when leaders talk about policies and improvement in nation, All our Vote Banks are based on caste, creed, communalism \" Well that’s about Indian Politics and we can talk about that next summer when India goes to National Polls for now I want to write about Most powerful Nation in the world.
  • I always thought that People in America elect their President after giving consideration to Party’s policies leaders’ plans for the nation I also thought that Election in America is fought on “issue based” and winner really reflects the mandate from people in terms of “Leadership and Agenda” . I think I was expecting too much out of this great nation and other than Drama of Open Debates between candidates and good Business for Media, I didn’t find anything great in elections. It just makes me nervous and brings lot of questions not only about the American Election System, America’s leaders but also about the American Voters and their thought process also.
  • First let’s talk about the system - it is a very bizarre that Presidential race is totally driven by “Electoral Votes” and even if one wins more popular votes at national level , he or she may loose the election. I really wonder why it is called “Presidential Election” when focus and emphasis is more on winning Battleground states. Due to this shift election campaigns ( and future federal Government policies ) are also driven around these Battleground States, This is like how regional parties in India are arm twisting Central Government and affecting Nation’s development and Policies.
  • Second let’s look at Leaders \" On One side it is very encouraging to see the leaders like Barrack Obama who has been so charismatic and composed that he is running his campaign in educating people about his policies on Economy, HealthCare, National Security and Foreign Policy , Another side it is very disappointing to see the type of campaign McCain Camp has been running and my hats off to Steve Schmidt and his crew that they have been successful in creating a distraction and big confusion among voters, played all tricks of narrow politics that election is still a tight race in spite of such a big failure of current Bush Administration, Biggest Economic Crisis at hand ,Failed Leadership of America at world level etc.
  • This election also opens the question that whether it is due to Racism that Barrack Obama is still having hard time in his acceptance among white voters in some states. Or Is it because People of this nation are so forgiving and patient that they are willing to give Republican Party another chance after a failed administration and a negative and divisive campaign run by John McCain and Republican Party?
  • Whatever is the outcome of Presidential Election on November 4’th, I think it will be very transformative for not just United States but for the entire world. it will set the pattern for all future elections in United States and for world, If John McCain wins the election \" it will stamp the future election strategy much like how it is in India \" Issues don’t matter, Administration’s performance doesn’t matter \" Just focus on some key states, Create Negativity, distractions and win elections \" This will also send the message to the world that “Racism” still exists in this great nation and will further divide the nation. On Positive Side if Barrack Obama wins the election it will unify the nation and will be huge morale booster for it’s citizens specially for lot of blacks in the nation who either took back seat or got left behind by people like John McCain and his party.
  • If John Mccain wins it will be as good as United States loosing the world’s leader role and end of United States’s influence on world, this will also shift World’s Leadership towards China or Russia.

  • Whoever becomes President of the United States in 2008 elections, he will face many serious challenges. Some of those challenges will be far more difficult due to the latest financial turmoil that U.S is undergoing. I believe that Senator Barack Obama will likely do the best job as president, as he seems to be honest and dynamic.

  • Mccain has the BEST Views about ecomony even though the MEDIA has created the impression that OBAMA can handle economy better.
  • OBAMA has no record to prove this, no record of any good achivements as a senator. All his past associations with people like Ayers, Jerimiah Wrights, Khalidi, TOny etc ...everything is questionable about his socialistic view and Judgement. He is a good SPEECH Maker only with the help of a TELEPROMPTER..

  • I do agree with you that he has all socialistic views. I am really keen to see how it is going to be success.
  • But they do anything for their success. Remember there are also Indians who want to stay back there so I believe his(or this) formula is going work for the first time.
  • But nothing can be said that easily.
  • The most disturbing thing from him to me is his expenditure towards advertisements. (According to the news information) not sure what is the reality.

  • You are right. McCain is spot on about the economy. He was so correct when he said the fundamentals of the US economy were sound just a week before Lehmann Brothers went out of business. And dont play the inexperience card, McCain's pick for VP is a woman who didnt have a passport till last year, who's husband is a seccessionist, and said her foriegn policy experience was she could see Russia from Alaska. Do you realize that if McCain dies in office(and at his age and his history, chances are pretty high he will), this woman will have the nuclear codes? Do we really want that?

  • Obama is my favorite. Chances of Obama winning is very high. McCain has racial advantage but Obama financial advantage(hoping for improving US economy by Obama).
